Dr. Demetrios Th. Vassiliades was born in the North Aegean island of Thassos (Greece) and got his first degree in Organization and Administration from the Economic University of Athens (ASOEE). After his graduation he traveled extensively in India and dedicated two decades in the study of the Indian languages, philosophies and culture. He studied with scholarships of the Greek Ministry of Education and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the Banaras Hindu University where he was awarded first class diplomas in Hindi and Sanskrit, a gold medal distinction for his M.A. in Indian Philosophy and Religion, and a Ph.D. degree in Philosophy and Religion for his dissertation, "A Critical and Comparative Study of the Presocratic Greek and Ancient Indian Philosophies." Demetrios Vassiliades is a Founding Member and President of the Indo-Hellenic Society for Culture and Development in Athens, a Founding Member of the Indo-Hellenic Friendship League in N. Delhi, and an Editorial Member of the Indian Society for Greek & Roman Studies at the M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. He has participated in international seminars, delivered lectures in Indian and European Universities, authored books and contributed research papers and articles in Greece, India, Spain and Japan.	Ο Δημήτριος Θ. Βασιλειάδης γεννήθηκε στη Θάσο και έλαβε το πρώτο πτυχίο του στην Οργάνωση και Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων από την ΑΣΟΕΕ. Μετά από την αποφοίτησή του ταξίδεψε εκτενώς στην Ινδία όπου και αφιέρωσε δύο δεκαετίες στη μελέτη των ινδικών γλωσσών, φιλοσοφιών και πολιτισμού. Σπούδασε με υποτροφίες του Ελληνικού Υπουργείου Παιδείας και του Ινδικού Συμβουλίου για τις Πολιτιστικές Σχέσεις στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μπεναρές (Banaras Hindu University) όπου αρίστευσε στα σανσκριτικά και στα χίντι και του απενεμήθη το χρυσό μετάλλιο στην ινδική φιλοσοφία και θρησκεύματα, καθώς και ο τίτλος του διδάκτορα για τη διατριβή του, “Μια Κριτική και Συγκριτική Μελέτη της Προσωκρατικής Ελληνικής και των Αρχαίων Ινδικών Φιλοσοφιών.” Ο Δ. Βασιλειάδης είναι Ιδρυτικό Μέλος και Πρόεδρος της Ελληνο-Ινδικής Εταιρείας Πολιτισμού και Ανάπτυξης στην Αθήνα, Ιδρυτικό Μέλος του Ελληνο-Ινδικού Συνδέσμου Φιλίας στο Ν. Δελχί και μέλος της Εκδοτικής Επιτροπής της Ινδικής Εταιρείας Ελληνικών και Ρωμαϊκών σπουδών στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μπαρέιλλι. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε διεθνή συνέδρια και παρέδωσε διαλέξεις σε ινδικά και ευρωπαϊκά πανεπιστήμια. Βιβλία, μελέτες και άρθρα του έχουν δημοσιευθεί στην Ελλάδα, Ινδία, Ισπανία και Ιαπωνία.
