Dr. Georgios Halkias, Editor, ELINEPA

 

Ο Δρ. Γιώργος Χαλκιάς γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και σπούδασε Συγκριτική Φιλοσοφία σε πτυχιακό και μεταπτυχιακό επίπεδο στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Χαβάης. Το έντονο ενδιαφέρον του για την επι-κοινωνία τον οδήγησε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Άμστερνταμ όπου και ολοκλήρωσε μεταπτυχι-ακές σπουδές στον κινηματογράφο και στα μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης. Μετά από τετραετή έρευνα στα Ιμαλάια και τον Θιβετανικό πολιτισμό ξεκίνησε την διδακτορική του διατριβή με θέμα “Buddhist Paradises and Tantric Territories: The Origins and Development of the Cult of Amitābas Pure Land in Tibet” στο Τμήμα Θιβετανικών και Σπουδών των Ιμαλαΐων του Oriental Institute του Πανεπιστημίου της Οξφόρδης όπου και εργάζεται σήμερα ως Ερευνητής και διδάκτωρ.

Ο κ. Χαλκιάς είναι Ιδρυτικό μέλος της ΕΛΙΝΕΠΑ και μέλος της συντακτικής ομάδας του ΙΝΔΙΚΑ και του ΙΝΔΙΚΑ Online όπου έχει δημοσιεύσει  και τα ακόλουθα άρθρα:
