Dr. Helen Abadzi,  Vice President ELINEPA, (CV and Publications)


Η Δρ. Ελένη Αμπατζή γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη και αποφοίτησε από το Αμερικάνικο Κολέγιο Ανατόλια για να συνεχίσει τις σπουδές της στις ΗΠΑ όπου και τις απενεμήθησαν οι τίτλοι του διδάκτορα στην Ψυχολογία και στην Εκπαιδευτική Διοίκηση από τα πανεπιστήμια του Τέξας και της Αλαμπάνα αντίστοιχα. Με την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών της άρχισε και συνεχίζει να εργάζεται μέχρι σήμερα ως υπεύθυνη εκτιμήσεων στην Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα, Washington D.C. Μιλάει 10 ασιατικές και ευρωπαίκές γλώσσες, και το 1990 αντιπροσώπευσε την Ελλάδα στον διαγωνισμό "Πολύγλωσσος της Ευρώπης"

Λόγω του επαγγέλματός της και ως μελετητής των ινδικών γλωσσών και πολιτισμού, η κα  Αμπατζή ταξίδεψε εκτενώς στην Ινδία και το Μπανγκλαντές όπου και ανέπτυξε ένα έντονο ενδιαφέρον για τις ελληνο-ινδικές πολιτιστικές σχέσεις και ιδιαίτερα για την ιστορία της ελληνικής κοινότητας της Βεγγάλης για την οποία και υπήρξε πρωτοπόρος στην προσπάθεια καταγραφής και διάσωσης των μνημείων της. Το ενδιαφέρον της Αντιπροέδρου της ELINEPA εστιάσθηκε επίσης στις ομοιότητες των ελληνικών και ινδικών τραγουδιών της δεκαετίας του 60 για  τις οποίες και ηχογράφησε δύο μουσικά CD και δημοσίευσε σε συνεργασία με τον Μανώλη Τασούσα το βιβλίο "Ινδοπρεπών Αποκάλυψη".

Dr. Helen Abadzi, Vice President, ELINEPA

Helen Ampadzi was bοrn in Thessaloniki and graduated from the American College in the city in order to continue her study in the USA where she was awarded the titles of the doctor in Psychology and in  Educational Administration from the universities of Texas and Alampana respectively. With the completion of her study, she began and continues to work up to today as a senior evaluation officer in the World Bank, Washington D.C. 

Because of her profession and as a student of Indian languages and culture, Ampadzi traveled extensively in India and Bangladesh where she developed an intense interest for the Indo - Greek cultural relations and particularly for the history of Greek community in Bengal for which she became a pioneer in the effort to record and preserve its monuments. The interest of the Vice-President of the ELINEPA was focused also in the resemblances of the Greek and Indian songs of the decade of 60's for that she recorded two musical CDs and published in collaboration with Manolis Tasoulas the book "Indoprepon Apokalipsi" (the Revelation of the Indian Songs).
